SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION TOWARDS NEW HORIZONS BETWEEN MASHTOTS MATENADARAN AND MONASTERY OF ZMMAR

30.01.2013 - The Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and the Zmmar Monastery established an ongoing scientific collaboration. Between the Director of the Matenadaran Hrachya Tamrazyan and the Patriarch Vicar, Zmmar Monastery’s  Supreme Archimandrite Gabriel Muradyan, was signed an agreement assigning the Matenadaran with the job of scientifically untouched manuscripts’ description. This agreement was made possible by mutual visits and meetings.


COOPERATION BETWEEN THE MATENADARAN AND THE ST. SOPHIA CYRIL AND METHODIUS NATIONAL LIBRARY

15.05.2013 - The Mesrop Mashtots Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and the St. Sophia Cyril and Methodius National Library signed a contract in April of 2013 which approved the creation of a scientific collaboration between two institutions. The contract aims to promote the scientific research and publication of the manuscripts and documentary materials of two institutions as well as the creation of various programs prompting exchanges among experts. The contract was signed in the spheres of cultural, educational, and scientific principals based on the cooperation agreement, signed on April 25, 1994 between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.


DONATIONS OF ARMENIANS OF JAVAKHK TO THE MASHTOTS MATENDARAN

30.07.2013 - In 2013, the Matenadaran was granted with many new acquisitions including valuable, interesting and original gifted manuscripts. This time, the blessings came from the delegation of Akhaltsikhe’s historical Javakhk. Famous businessmen from Akhaltsikhe, Sos Sahakyan and Ashot Hakobyan, gifted the Matenadaran pair relics of Armenian manuscript culture in the name of Aspindza’s Damala village church and community.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation invited the directorate of the Matenadaran to the Armenian village of Damala on June 2 for their annual celebration. So the small group of the Matenadaran departed to Damala led by the Matenadaran’s Director.
