PRESS RELEASE

  On January 19, 2018, was held the first sitting of the Board of Trustees of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation. The sitting included the following issues:
1.    Discussion and approval of the working procedure of the Board of Trustees of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation
2.     Election of the Board of Trustees’ Chairman of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation
3.    Election of the Board of Trustees’ Secretary of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation
4.    Discussion and Approval of the regulation of election for the Director of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation
5.    The issue of announcing the vacancy position of the Director of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation
6.        Other questions
  All members of the Board of Trustees were present at the sitting (Matenadaran’s Board of Trustees consists of 19 members; see the list in Matenadaran's website). The Board of Trustees discussed and approved the working procedure of the Board of Trustees. Chairman of the Board of Pyunik Human Resources Development Foundation, Head of the department of “History of Armenian Church and Ecclesiology” of YSU, Faculty of Theology, Doctor of History, Professor, Levon Sargsyan was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Matenadaran as a result of voting of the board members. Armen Malkhasyan, Head of Archive Department of Matenadaran, Candidate of Historical Sciences, was unanimously elected Secretary of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees discussed and approved the regulation of election for the Director of the “Matenadaran” Scientific Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots Foundation. March 6 was announced as the competition day for the position of the Matenadaran’s Director.
