Stepanos Yerets, "Hangitagirq", the original text was prepared and translated into Armenian by Tamara Minasyan, Lusine Tumanyan, Chief Editor Vahan Bayburdian, Editor Hasmik Kirakosyan, “Alik” Printing House, Tehran, 2017, 330 pages + 8 pictures

The Armenian historiography was enriched by another source. The complete publication of the original and its translation into modern Armenian of Stepanos Yerets Hazarjribetsi's "Hangitagirq" puts into circulation a work which is a very important source for studying the Iranian-Armenian community, especially the history of Fereydan, Burwar, New Julfa’s provinces and Iran's late Middle Ages. Stephanos Yerets Hazarjribetsi's chronological parameters of History cover 1665-1789, from the end of the rule of Shah Abbas II of Safavid in Iran until the times of Muhammad Khan and Lutfal Khan. Dedicated to the history of the second half of the 17th and 18th centuries, the book includes a wider range of data. Stepanos Yerets’s History also contains important information about the history of neighboring countries: Afghanistan, South Caucasus region, and especially Georgia.
"Hangitagirq" has reached us in two manuscripts. The original is N. 654 manuscript kept in New Julfa’s depository of manuscripts. The second manuscript is kept in Yerevan, at Matenadaran, which was completely replicated from the Julfa manuscript in 1945-1946 by the Iranian-Armenian philologist Levon Minasyan (manuscript N. 10555).
The original is published based on Julfa manuscript. It consists of 488 pages, which contain forty-one chapters of the History Book, an introduction and a colophon, a dictionary of incomprehensible words. The cantos by Stepanos Yerets are also included into the manuscript.
The original was prepared and translated into Armenian by Senior Researchers at Matenadaran Tamara Minasyan and Lusine Tumanyan. The preface was written by Ph.D., Iranologist Vahan Bayburdian, and narratives by Vahan Bayburdian and senior researcher at Matenadaran, Iranologist Hasmik Kirakosyan.
The book was published “Alik” Publishing House in Tehran, on the initiative of the Fereydan Educational Association.
