AT THE MATENADARAN THE PRESENTATION OF BOOK “AYNTAB NEEDLEWORK” WAS ACCOMPANIED BY THE TEMPORARY EXHIBITION ON THE SAME TOPIC


  On April 1, teacher of the AGBU Aleppo Martiros Saryan Academy Hrazdan Tokmajyan presented his book “Ayntab Needlework” during an event held as part of the Days of Aintab Program at the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan. Among the participants of the event were RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, President of the “Pyunik” Pan-Armenian Human Resources Development Foundation Levon Sargsyan, Co-Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees Gabriel Jemberjian and other guests. Author of the book, Hrazdan Tokmajyan introduced the two-volume book.
  The event was followed by the opening of temporary exhibition on the same topic in the temporary exhibitions hall of Matenadaran’s scientific building. There are shown unique samples (shirts, nightclothes, tablecloths, etc., as well as family photos of Aintab people) of famous
Ayntab Needlework which presented in the book by the title “Work of Aintab” of 19-20th centuries. The exhibited samples supplied Hrazdan Tokmajyan from his personal collection.


  The exhibition is located in the exhibition hall of Matenadaran’s new building (4th floor).

  The guests also viewed photos showing episodes of the Battle of Aintab in the archival documents’ exhibition hall of Matenadaran’s museum complex.
 The Days of Aintab Program is part of the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
