The Matenadaran published the work “Samuel Anetsi and Successors, Chronicle” of the Doctor of Historical Sciences Karen Matevosyan. The Chronicle is one of the outstanding works of 12th century’s Armenian bibliography which has been written under the order of Armenian catholicos Grigor III Pahlavuni (1113-1166). It extends from Adam and reaches to 1163. This concise but accurate chronological work due to its rich contents had multiple copies in the middle ages. Now there are fully and partly copies of more than 70 manuscripts of Chronicle.
In the scientific world this Chronicle was famous of its Latin (1818) and French (1876)
translations, and Armenian publication in Vagharshapat (1893). This Chronicle has basic peculiarity because it is written with the methods of chronicle charts and later it has been completed with many interruptions and additions with the hand of different authors and at the same time has been continued till the 18th century.
The book begins with researches about Samuel Anetsi and his Chronicle, manuscripts, publications and additions. Then the original of Samuel Anetsi’s Chronicle is presented with 3 parts:
•    Extending from Adam until Jesus’ birth,
•    Extending from Jesus’ birth until 1163,
•    The Chronicle of Samuel Anetsi’s successors (1164-1776).
Afterwards are annotations.
This publication of Samuel Anetsi “Extending from Adam and with additions continued until 1776” is a rich historical source which contains many chronicle units presented the first time. The book has name indexes, and also indexes of Chronicle’s manuscripts and subjects.
